affected by cancer in some way and absolutely,
positively want to do something about this
terrible disease. In addition, we are all
avid soccer fans and have played and enjoyed
the sport most of our lives.

Ryan received his undergraduate degree from Purdue University and his MBA from the University of Chicago. He has worked for both Fortune 500 companies and start-ups and is currently with Hospira - a global specialty pharmaceutical and medication delivery company driven by its vision of Advancing Wellness™. He started Kicks 4 Cancer in 2003 with Steve Scherrer as a way to honor his father who passed away in 1996 from Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. |

Mark Groenke - Director and Vice President |

Mark is our operational expert and manages scheduling and scoring on tournament day, as well as other key aspects of the tournament. Mark dedicates his time in honor of his father, who lost his battle with cancer in 2010. Mark’s father helped found the Cary Soccer Association in the mid 1970’s, coached countless recreational and traveling teams, and refereed over 1000 games. Mark received his undergraduate degree from Southern Illinois University and his MBA from the University of Chicago. He is the Vice President of Engineering at Con-Tech Lighting, which is committed to providing innovative, high-quality products in the lighting marketplace. |
Steve Scherrer - Legal Counsel |

Steve has been a part of the Kicks4Cancer management team from the beginning and has been integral in growing the tournament to what it is today. He received his undergraduate degree from Benedictine University and his J.D. and master's degree from Indiana University. In 2009 he founded Scherrer Patent & Trademark Law, P.C., a law firm whose practice is dedicated to securing patent and trademark rights for its clients. |

Tom Vosberg graduated from Loyola University of Chicago where he majored in marketing and was a member of Loyola's soccer team. In 2006, Tom was inducted in the Peoria Area Soccer Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Tom and his family live in Crystal Lake and he works for DS&P Insurance Services, Inc. in Palatine. As a volunteer for Bear Necessities, Tom joined the Kicks4Cancer team in 2006 to give back to the soccer community and to honor his friend, Mike McLaughlin, who died of cancer at a young age. |
